PEC CPD SEMINAR ON “ROLE OF DIGITAL TWINS IN MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND PROCESSES”
Isra University, in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), organized the 3rd PEC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminar on the topic “Role of Digital Twins in Modern Technology and Processes” at the Faculty of Engineering, Science & Technology (FES&T), Isra University on Wednesday, 25 September 2024. The event featured distinguished guests and speakers, offering valuable insights into the application of digital twins in modern industries.
The Chief Guest, Engr. Sumair Saeed, Deputy Director General, Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan, and the Guest of Honour, Engr. Saleh Rind, Chief Minister-Nominated PEC Governing Body Member, graced the occasion with their presence and thanked Isra University, in particular Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University, for the warm hospitality. Both delivered addresses, highlighting the importance of integrating cutting-edge digital technologies like digital twins in optimizing processes and advancing modern engineering solutions and hoped that continuous cooperation with Isra University will continue in the future. Traditional decoration of the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Resource Person were carried out by Prof. Dr. Niaz Memon, Prof. Dr. Noor Mohammad and Prof. Dr. Hassan Ali Khan Durrani. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Saad Baloch, Focal Person, PEC CPD Activities.
The seminar featured a highly informative session by the Resource Person, Prof. Dr. Tanweer Hussain, Director Research Innovation & Commercialisation, Mehran UET Jamshoro. Prof. Hussain discussed the role of digital twins in simulating real-world processes and optimizing efficiency in various sectors, such as aviation, manufacturing, and infrastructure. He also thanked Isra University for having him as resource person for this Seminar. The event was concluded with an address by Prof. Dr. Suhail Kazi, Dean of FES&T and PEC Coordinator, who emphasized the need for academic institutions to stay at the forefront of technological advancements. He also commended the participants for their active engagement and dedication to professional development. Dr. Kazi along with a resource person distributed certificates among participants and organizers.
The 3rd PEC CPD Seminar successfully brought together professionals, academics, and students, fostering meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange on the role of digital twins in shaping the future of modern technology and processes.
